Pledge of Commitment of Support signed during the DENRO Summit

Through the initiative of DENR CALABARZON Enforcement Division and the Deputized Environment and Natural Resources Officers (DENROs) Laguna Chapter, a DENRO Summit was conducted last June 28, 2019, at the DENR CALABARZON Building, Brgy. Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna. Participants include DENROs from all over CALABARZON. 


DENROs are appointed to assist in the following:

1.       Enforcement of laws, rules and regulations; 
2.       Conduct of Information, Education, Communication (IEC) Campaigns related to the environment; and 
3.       Documentation of the conduct of Administrative Confiscation Proceedings, such as issuance of apprehension receipts, seizure orders, and notices of hearings. 

They are also authorized to arrest, even without a warrant, any person who has committed an offense under environmental laws, rules and regulations, as well as appearing as a witness in court against complaints regarding environmental violators. 

The appointment of DENROs is part of vigilant efforts to protect and conserve our natural resources. Support from other government agencies and stakeholders are important in upholding these efforts.

The summit was also organized to encourage camaraderie and collaboration among the DENROs of the DENR CALABARZON. It also aims to increase the effectivity of enforcement and implementation of ENR laws, rules and regulations, as well as management of action, information, dissemination, and planning. The summit ended with the DENROs signing the Pledge of Commitment of Support. The content of the Pledge as follows:

PLEDGE OF COMMITMENT OF SUPPORT

 We, the Deputized Environment and Natural Resources Officer (DENROs) of DENR-CALABARZON voluntarily commit ourselves to assist the DENR in the effective implementation and enforcement of ENR laws, rules and regulations. That, we also commit to undertake vigorous Information, Education and Communication Campaigns to increase the level of awareness of the citizenry on the importance of the environment and natural resources in order to sustain benefits derived therefrom.
