Hailed as the “Resort Capital of the Philippines”, the province of LAGUNA has so much potential and vast opportunities for growth in industrial and socio-tourism activities.
Tunay nga ‘hong isa ang Laguna sa mga ipinagmamalaking lalawigan ng ating bansa, dahil sa taglay nitong yaman at potensyal sa mas lalong pag-unlad.
This is why the Department of Transportation (DOTr) is determined to enhance mobility and connectivity in Laguna, to push further its economic boom.
In the railways sector, we are currently developing PNR Calamba (Solis-Calamba)—one of the segments of the massive North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project.
Tomorrow, we will be inspecting the Alabang Station of the PNR Calamba, as well as its depot location, and central station.
This 56-km. leg, that will run from Solis, Manila to Calamba, is slated to be partially operable in 2025, and fully operable by 2028. This segment is set to shorten travel time between Manila and Laguna from the current 3 hours, to one 1 hour, with a passenger capacity of 340,000 daily.
Apart from the comfort and convenience it will provide, the segment will also pave way for job generation. In fact, a whopping 10,635 jobs await the people in Laguna for this project.
Meanwhile, in the maritime sector, we have completed the port development project at the Port of Victoria in San Roque, Laguna.
This development will enable a more efficient and smooth movement of goods and people, will further boost the province’s maritime network, and will open doors for progressive economic endeavors.
Moreover, several road transport programs will also be launched tomorrow, as I will personally conduct a dialogue with the drivers and other transport stakeholders in the province.
The DOTr is fully committed and determined to successfully bring all of these projects into fruition, to make Laguna an economic powerhouse, that will provide long-lasting benefit for our kababayans.
NARITO NA ‘HO ANG PAGLAGO NG LAGUNA!
