“Sa susunod na taon po, asahan n’yong ipagpapatuloy natin ang pagbibigay prayoridad sa edukasyon, dahil naniniwala po tayo na ang edukasyon ay sandata ng maraming Pilipino laban sa kahirapan at susi sa pag-unlad ng bansa,” Secretary Pangandaman underscored.

Sec. Pangandaman emphasized that, for this year, the Education, Culture, and Manpower Development sector got the biggest chunk of the budget pie with P983.5 billion. Part of this budget is the allocation of a total of P132.929 billion for State Universities and Colleges or SUCs nationwide.

Meanwhile, during her address to 404 candidates for graduation, with 17 coming from the College of Veterinary Medicine and 387 from the College of Engineering and Architecture at CSU Carig Campus, the DBM Secretary shared ten guiding principles she holds and that could assist graduates in their journey toward a new path.

These include the following: There’s no substitute for hard work; Always show kindness; Be grateful at all times; Find your passion and advocacy; Be agile and adaptable; Build real relationships; Foster critical thinking; You can’t please everyone; Be proud of your heritage; and take care of the environment.
