Director
Brillante Mendoza together with the students after the Q & A portion for
the movie Foster Child held at the SM City Calamba Cinema

Calamba City
gave a warm welcome to the internationally acclaimed and multi awarded indie
film director Brillante Mendoza as he launched Brillante Mendoza Film Festival
last February 23 at SM City Calamba. The
launched was highlighted by the viewing of the trailers which are included in
the said film fest. Among of which are
Manoro, Foster Child and Thy Womb. Synopsis of each film was also narrated by
invited readers. Invited readers are City Tourism Head – Ms Noemi Talatala for
Manoro, Dr. Vim Nadera- School Director of Philippine High School for the Arts
for Foster Child, and the veteran actor and the Laguna Tourism consultant, Mr
Leandro Baldemor.
SM City Calamba
also gave a plaque of appreciation for Director Brillante for sharing his time
to the audience for the said film fest.
The event was made more interesting with a press conference which was
attended by the Laguna media personalities and student journalists from STI
College Calamba and Lyceum of the Philippines Laguna.
Aside from the
exclusive screening of Manoro and Foster Child, a film appreciation workshop
was held after the screening of Thy Womb. This shows the behind the scenes of
the movie and the different elements of movie making.
