San Pablo Medical Society once again held Phodocgraphy with
this year’s theme: Points of View. The Photo exhibit aims to raise awareness
through the eyes of a doctors’ lenses as they photograph their daily routine.
The project started out with a few doctors
who loved photography coming up with the idea to have small photo exhibit at a
hospital lobby for Medicine Week. "PhoDocgraphy" as it came to be
known. Dr. Ed Noblejas, former SPC
MedSoc President said “Then the idea took
flight and became a yearly event with more and more MDs being bitten by the
camera bug. So much so that hospital lobbies were no longer big enough to
accommodate the entries. The opening of SM San Pablo became the solution to the
quest for a bigger and more prestigious venue for PhoDocgraphy.” The mall's
atrium became the annual showcase of the photographic creativity and passion of
the doctors of the San Pablo City Medical Society. A partnership that hopefully
continues to bring the medical practitioners closer and more in touch with the
people they have vowed to heal and serve.
Around 80 pictures have been selected, each exhibiting
images capturing the context and humanity of an emergency, hospital rounds,
natural disaster and operations. Doctor
CristetoAzucena whose photos are also part of the exhibit says that what they
see in their everyday life as a doctor can be really be very challenging but
what is consistent is the amount of hope they see with their patients.
San Pablo Medical Society provides essential medical
humanitarian aid regardless of race, religion, gender or political affiliation.
They have been helping the community by giving their services for free through
medical mission and they have been also supporting SM Foundation Gamot para
saKapwa for 4 years now here at San Pablo, Laguna.
”Sometimes you can’t calculate the ripple effect of the
good that you do.” “You may not be able to change the world, but you can make a
difference to an individual, a family or a community,” Says Dr. Rose
Cariaga Shellshear.
The exhibition was held for three days in SM City San Pablo mall atrium from September 28 to September 30 2015.
