Promoting environmental awareness through Cleanergy e-bike

The Cleanergy Center’s e-bike charges phones and helps burn unwanted calories. The center is currently procuring additional e-bike units that can be deployed to communities when there is a power outage in times of disaster.

AboitizPower participated in the Laguna’s National Environmental Awareness Month organized by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resource Office (PG-ENRO) last November 25 to 27 at the capitol grounds through a fun and interactive Cleanergy electronic bike (e-bike) booth.

The Cleanergy e-bike is one of the many exhibit booths during the campaign launch of the Laguna E-Code, which features environmental-friendly products and lecture series on the best practices in environmental protection, preservation, and management.

By pedalling this stationary e-bike, visitors during the event get to promote efficient energy saving practices and sustainable lifestyle.

The Cleanergy e-bike is being housed in the Cleanergy Center, an energy education facility located in the admin complex of its wholly-owned subsidiary AP Renewables, Inc. (APRI) in Barangay Bitin, Bay, Laguna.

In 2015, more than 10,000 students and professionals have experienced the informative audio-visual presentations, fun and interactive displays, and educational tour of a working geothermal power plant.

APRI President and COO Felino Bernardo shared, “We in AboitizPower support Laguna Province’s drive towards the conservation of our environment. With our geothermal plants in the provinces of Albay, Batangas, and Laguna, we are committed to providing reliable power supply at a reasonable and competitive price. We do this with the least adverse impact on the environment and in the communities where we operate.”

To experience the e-bike and the other features of the Cleanergy Center, contact APRI at (02) 886 2800 local 12622 or visit their official Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CleanergyCenter. Cleanergy Center is open from Mondays to Fridays, 8am-4pm. Entrance is for free.
