Another sure
sign that summer is coming are those final, end-of-the-year happenings
throughout the school district. Here in SM City San Pablo , the graduation of
the DSWD Day Care students has already commence and will run from March 28-
April 3,2016.
The DSWD Day
care, San Pablo City Laguna will have a total estimate of 4200 students
graduating from different barangay this year. Each classroom put together an
educational program that teaches 3-4 yr. old kids socialization and the basics
of education. SM City San Pablo extends its congratulations to all the young graduates who have
successfully gone through an important phase of their first study that lays the
foundation of life-long learning.
Our new generations will face a much faster changing world
than we did years ago. Globalization,
the advent of information technology, and the development of a knowledge-based
economy are leading to changes at an unprecedented rate and scale. The knowledge children learnt at schools will
soon lag behind the development of the society.
In the face of the challenges ahead, we need to equip our new generation
to be “life-long learners” and with the ability to “learn how to learn”, so that
they can keep abreast of changes and become active and valuable members of our
community.
To prepare our children for the future, we need to provide
them with the opportunities to develop the generic skills that are needed for
them to become a productive members of the society. Apart from knowledge, our children need to
develop their skills to acquire, construct and communicate knowledge. They should also be able to collaborate with
others, be ready to listen and be creative in their thinking. Most of all, at this early stage of
development, a positive view of themselves as learners is the most important
benefit we can inculcate in our children.
SM Supermalls as
a catalyst for positive social change will always be supportive with the
advocacies of DSWD, local government and the community. The whole of SM Group
of companies empower to build, to care, to teach and to lift the spirits of the
community by continuously responding to the social needs of the marginalized
segments of the society through holistic approach.
