CALABARZON’s Fire Cracker incidents down by 39%

Camp BGen Vicente P Lim – The Police Regional Office CALABARZON recorded a decrease by 59% percent in Fire Cracker injuries and other related incidents such as fire incidents.

Figures show that a total of 139 incidents were recorded from the period December 16, 2017 to January 2, 2018 compared to the 229 incidents covering the same period last year. The incident on indiscriminate firing had increased from 2 to 6 incidents this year however, there were no reported PNP personnel involved in the said incidents.

Meanwhile, fire crackers amounting to P215, 850.00 were confiscated during the conduct of checkpoints and other police operations against selling and use of illegal fire crackers. This includes the confiscation of assorted illegal fire crackers in an operation conducted on December 29, 2017 at San Pablo City Laguna where four (4) Chinese Nationals were arrested.

“The decrease of fire cracker incidents could be attributed on the intensified campaign of the government specially the Philippine National Police in cooperation with other agencies such as the Bureau of Fire Protection, the DILG, DOH, and other concerned agencies,” said CALABARZON Director PCSUPT Ma. O R Aplasca.

Piccolo was still the most prevalent fire cracker recorded to have injured the victims.

“Pinapasalamatan din naming ang aming mga kababayan na nakiisa at sumuporta sa aming pinaigting na kampanya. Kung hindi rin po sa kanilang kooperasyon ay hindi po naming mapapababa ng malaki an gaming datos,” RD Aplasca added.(PIO- PRO4A)
