The Cooperative and Livelihood Development Department (CLDD)
recently had the kick-off ceremony of the CO-OP month at SM City Calamba.
Dubbed as “Cooperatives: Partners
for building resilient and empowered communities towards a better and stronger
Philippines” the trade fair and exhibit aims to further introduce the City
Livelihood Development Fund, a program to help micro-entrepreneurs widen their
business horizons. It also offers livelihood trainings, and assistance in
product development, promotion and marketing.
Different livelihood demos and
trainings such as candle making, meat processing, salted egg training, cactus
and succulent propagation, and cleaning agents and sweets production were held
at the mall atrium.
“This event aims to popularize
the concept of cooperatives and to help the individual entrepreneurs as well as
the cooperatives to showcase their products and services” said Leonardo
Opulencia Head of CLDD.
