Mark your
calendars on November 12 – 14 as the Department of Science and Technology –
CALABARZON (DOST-CALABARZON) will bring to you its 2018 Regional Science and
Technology Week (RSTW) at Lucena City, Quezon and Antipolo City, Rizal.
Following the
theme of “Science for the People: Innovation for Collective Prosperity”,
DOST-CALABARZON will showcase the extent of Science, Technology, and Innovation
programs and services given to our community-based partners, MSMEs, and

One of the
highlights of this celebration is the inauguration of our newly-built Quezon

Campus. In each PSTC, a Service Laboratory will also be established: Center for
Hazard and Environmental Resource Mapping (CHERM) Laboratory in Quezon and
Regional Design and Creativity Hub for Innovation in MSMEs and Education
(RDCHIME) Laboratory in Rizal.
This 3-day
event will feature S&T exhibits from various DOST agencies, private
organizations, academe, and MSMEs at Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City,
Quezon. Some of the technologies to be featured include Mobile Planetarium,
DIWATA, Augmented Reality and Storm Surge Simulator, Therapeutic Handloom, 3D
Printer, Nipa Distilled Spirit Processing, Makapuno Island Products, and
Travelling Exhibits of the Philippine Science Centrum, among others. Aside from
the interactive exhibits, DOST-CALABARZON will bring you different fora and

You want
more? We’ll bring you more! True to its core of being the prime mover of
S&T solutions in the CALABARZON Region, we are going to launch the
following during the opening ceremony: DOST-CALABARZON Communication Plan (as
an address to the communication gaps identified), DARIUS Project (harmonization
of information systems in DOST system), and Makapuno Island Products (as
support to the establishment of the Makapuno Island project). A ceremonial
handover of Tsunami Early Warning System (TEWS) to LGU Jomalig, LGU Panukulan,
and LGU Calauag and MOA signing for the future beneficiaries of this device
will also happen.
As a way of
giving back to our clients, we will be recognizing the Best SETUP and CBP

help of our programs. Our exhibit centerpiece will highlight the best products
of the best SETUP adoptor’s winners.
