SM City Calamba and SM City San Pablo
together with the other SM malls across the country joins the celebration of
the Yuletide Season. The holiday season was officially opened by filling the
mall atrium with Christmas cheers and carols as well as the launching of the
Christmas Centerpieces.
Writing a letter to Santa Claus is
among the numerous traditions surrounding Christmas. The form of "Dear
Santa letters" typically include: a testament of "nice" or "not
naughty" behavior and a wish-list of toys. It is also believed that Santa
loves to receive letters and drawings from children all around the world each
year that is why SM City San Pablo launched a “Letters to Santa” inspired Christmas
Centerpiece that pays tribute to Father Christmas.
Joining the mall-goers and
reveling in the magical charm of the Christmas launch in SM City San Pablo was
SM little Star Johan Yalong, DTI Provincial Director Ms Susan Palo, San Rafael
Brgy Chairman and Collette’s Buko Pie owner Ed Dela Cruz and San Pablo LGUs.
The event was highlighted by a 22-feet Christmas tree centerpiece that will
surely give you more reasons to be merry this holiday season.
Letters to Santa have one thing in
common and that would be toys! This year SM City Calamba launched the holiday
centerpiece, “Toy Factory”. The extravagant centerpiece complimented the
Christmas ambiance of the mall together with the gigantic Christmas trees, toy
soldiers, and colorful lights.
SM City Calamba’s grand reveal was
graced by Erwin Aala from the Office of Gov. Ramil Hernandez, Raquel Claudio
from the Office of Vice Mayor Ross Rizal, City Councilor Cha Hernandez, Chow
Atienza from the Office of City
Councilor Santy Atienza, Neneth Estrada from
the Office of City Tourism, and Manuela Boliver from OSCA.
Making the celebration more
meaningful is SM Bears of Joy, an annual charity project of SM Cares, SM
Supermalls, and Toy Kingdom. For only P 200.00, each shopper can have 1 cute
cuddly bear to keep, while the other will be donated to a chosen charity. To
make the donation more personal and heartwarming, donors can write down their
messages on the special cards attached to the bears. They can also write their
names on the donor’s wall for acknowledgement.
SM continues to bring joy to its
shoppers as they celebrate the Grand Magical Christmas Parade on Dec 2 and 26
in SM City San Pablo and on Nov 30 and Dec 19 in SM City Calamba. Brass
marching bands, cartoon character appearances, dancing princes and princesses,
and Santa Claus meet and greet are some of the dazzling entertainment for the
shoppers.
