SM Center Muntinlupa, through its
socio-civic arm SM Cares, hosted the recently held Emergency Preparedness Forum
2019. This program aims to strengthen SM’s commitment to promote awareness and
provide a safe and barrier-free environment for the elderly and persons with
disabilities.
Invited speakers were Mr. Jeffrey
Perez, Supervising Science Research Specialist of Philippine Institute of
Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) and Dr. Ted Esguerra who is an active
member of numerous emergency preparedness and disaster response units.
A total of 250 attendees from the
Office of the Senior Citizens Affair (OSCA) Muntinlupa and Muntinlupa
Federation of Persons with Determination actively participated during the
event.
“We want to ensure that SM is
indeed a place for all, and it is thru these seminars and orientations that we
get to prepare and protect the elders and PWDs from the harm of natural
disasters, such as earthquakes.
