PRO4A all set for ‘Ligtas Undas’ 2019


Camp BGen Vicente P Lim A total of 7, 239 members of Police Regional Office CALABARZON coming from the five Police Provincial Offices and the Regional Public Safety Battalion will be deployed for the UNDAS 2019 starting on October 31 to November 3, 2019 which will cover places of convergence, transportation hubs and terminal and will serve as route security.

There are also 1,430 Assistance Hubs to be established in cemeteries, commercial areas, parks and community centers as well as major tourist destinations bus terminals, and seaports.

14, 165 Force Multipliers and Volunteer Groups shall be mobilized to cover over 562 cemeteries in the entire region.

PRO4A Regional Director PBGen Vicente D Danao, Jr directed all CALABARZON to intensify security operations and public safety plan to ensure a secured, safe and orderly observance of All Saints and All Souls Day 2019.

General Danao underscores the need to extend protection and assistance to motorists and commuters who will be travelling to the provinces for UNDAS via the Aguinaldo Highway in Cavite, South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) in Laguna, Southern Tagalog Access Road (STAR) in Batangas and other national highways in Rizal and Quezon provinces.

“We will re-activate and implement our public safety services to provide assistance to the general public during this season to address the upsurge of commuters, motorists and travelers in order to prevent congestions, accidents, and other street crimes especially along routes leading to terminals, churches and cemeteries, major thoroughfares and other places of convergence,” he said.

“We will also intensify our police visibility to avoid the opportunity for criminals to conduct robberies and increase their illegal activities,” he further added.

Travelers during these days are discouraged to wear jewelry and bringing large amounts of money and expensive gadgets while in the streets or public transportations.

The public is also encouraged to double security measures when leaving their respective houses. Motorists are also reminded to always check on “BLOWBAGETS” (Brake, Lights, Oil, Water, Battery, Air, Gas, Engine, Tire and Self) while travelling using their own vehicles.

Some safety tips and reminders are encouraged for those who are going to visit their departed loved ones in the cemeteries includes bringing of umbrella for protection from the heat of the sun and rain; bringing of food and water; name tags for children; awareness on the designated places of First Aid station and Assistance Hubs. Along with these, authorities prohibits the carrying of deadly weapons, gambling items, loud speakers, and liquor inside the cemeteries.

 “While our men are deployed in every road to provide security and protection, we appeal to the community to support and cooperate with the security protocols of the police,” RD Danao said.

               Likewise, the public is encouraged to be vigilant and report to authorities any suspicious persons, activities, and unusual occurrences in public or any untoward incidents and crime situations.
