Laguna – Santa Rosa City government officially rolled out the jabs for children aged 5 to 11 years old on Monday, February 14th Valentine’s Day.
Santa Rosa Mayor Arlene Arcillas said this is part of the efforts to reduce fear or vaccine hesitancy among the age group. "Here in Santa Rosa we strongly believe that vaccination is our strongest weapon to fight the virus. We want to give our youth the safest option and we have to protect them to be able to do this," Arcillas added.
"To complement the pediatric vaccination initiative, the city generously added vaccination sites at SM Malls in Laguna which specifically turned to a children friendly venue. We have installed kid-friendly waiting areas where they can stay before and after getting vaccinated. Vaccinees are greeted by SM Cares bears and delighted with different attractions. As a simple token for their bravery, every minor vaccinee is given a loot bag after receiving their shot," Ms. Niña Wong, Public Relations Manager said. Ms. Wong also stressed that safety protocols were observed during the vaccination process at all times.
As of Monday, the number of children belonging to the 5 to 11 age group who were pre-registered for their Covid-19 shots through Santa Rosa LGU efforts reached 12,000
