CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal - Soldiers of the Army's 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division recovered war materiel following an encounter against the member of the New People's Army in General Nakar in the province of Quezon, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 2:40 in the afternoon. 
Troops of the 1st Infantry Battalion encountered ten armed personalities in a five-minute firefight while conducting combat operations at Barangay Magsikap. The encountered rebels were believed to be led by Janice Javier alias Yayo and Noel Madregalejos alias Luis, the Secretary and Deputy Secretary for Organization of Platun 2 (YGM) of KLG NARCISO and EXECOM of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee's Sub-Regional Military Area 4A. No casualty was recorded on the government side, while casualty on the rebel's side is still being verified.
Among the items seized were one M16 rifle, a hand grenade, one Improvised Explosive Device, and three backpacks containing personal belongings and several subversive documents.
In his statement, 2ID Commander Maj. Gen. Rowen S. Tolentino assured the people that 2ID is intensifying its efforts to secure the communities of Southern Tagalog from the harms of insurgency. 
"We are continuously intensifying our operations across CALABARZON and MIMARO to ensure the communities are safe from the threat groups. We urge the remaining rebels to reconsider their already “insignificant cause” especially the use of violence and terror.”
