54 CPP-NPA-NDF surrendered and dropped support for communist terrorist ideology this Christmas to the Government through RMFB-4A in Camp General Macario Sakay, Los Baños, Laguna.

Alias Tatay Resting, a former leader of the NPA and has been a member for 34 years was one of those who surrendered. He is one of the speakers who became emotional and cited that his life was screwed, struggling in the forest, experienced poverty and lots of hardship, wherein no help was received from the CPP-NPA-NDF.

The PNP was overwhelmed, because their so- called former enemy is now considered as their friend.

The 54 surrenderee promised to renounce their ideology of the terrorism of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

To formalize the abandonment of the terrorist organisation, the signing on a board as a pledge of support to the Philippine Government occurred.

Also the surrenderees capitulate their firearms and weapons such as guns and grenades.

Grocery gift packs were also distributed to the 54 surrenderees, as the spirit of Christmas were felt in giving and unity as they joined a hearty meal in a boodle fight.

Usec Ronald Cardema reiterate that the generation today is more aware of what’s happening due to social media informations especially when there’s a heated argument between the military and NPA. One instance was, the burning of cell sites by the NPA which they now realized that it does not prove their ideology of serving the society, thus, only affects millions of Filipinos.

Government promised via PLtCol. Agosto M. Asuncion that they will protect and help those who surrendered to have their normal lives back and support them to become a law abiding citizens of the country.
