SM Foundation recently inaugurated
the newly renovated SAF Training Branch Dispensary, which services the medical
needs of special action force commandos undergoing training in Fort Sto Domingo,
Sta Rosa Laguna. Those undergoing training in the camp are exposed in true to
life battle field situations which getting hurt or accidents may likely happen.
With the improvement of the
facilities of the medical clinic, SAF trainees are assured of quality first-aid
medical assistance in times of distress before they are turned over to the
nearest hospital in case of confinement.
Also, the foundation donated
equipment and supplies to the center, like oxygen tanks with regulators and
carriage, nebulizers, stethoscopes, sterilizers, surgical sets, and other
specialized equipment for battle simulation related emergencies. The
reception/waiting room was furnished with furniture, including sofa, center
table, wall fans, colored television sets and comfortable beds.
On hand to inaugurate and receive
the renovated center from the SM Foundation was the newly
appointedSpecial Action Force Director Moro
Virgilio M. Lazowho
said that at first he was hesitant to receive the proposal from SM for the
trainees might call in sick but in the long run he said that what SM gave to SAF,
is a big boost to their morale."He added that “modernizing the SAF Dispensary
is very timely. He himself as a horemer trooper know the hardship of the
training and how things are limited in the dispensary.
SM Foundation's Executive Director
for Health and Medical Services Connie Angeles, in turning over' the donation
to the SAF Training Branch, the second PNP adopted facility said "the
donation is SM's small way of giving back to these brave men for the sacrifice
that they give to ourbeloved country."
