San Pablo Mall employees, mall guards and front liners joins Brigada Eskwela 2019 held San Jaoquin San Pablo City |
San Joaquin San Pablo City – Newly painted and clean classrooms, well-maintained teaching materials, and attractive green landscape inspire students to go to school. In connection with this, the Department of Education (DepEd), conducts Brigada Eskwela yearly which prepares public schools nationwide a few weeks before the school year starts.
SM City San Pablo receives a lot of request letters from different public schools and yearly they choose one school to partner with. This year the chosen school partner is San Joaquin elementary School.
Citing this year’s theme “Matatag na Bayan para sa Maunlad na Paaralan”, SM City San Pablo Mall Manager Eve Verzola said the campaign reiterates the importance of everybody’s contribution in providing the Filipino youth better education.
The initiative mobilizes thousands of parents, alumni, civic groups, local businesses, non-government organizations, teachers, students, and individuals who volunteer their time and skills to do repairs on the school buildings and facilities in time for school opening.
Apart from instilling school pride in the community, the Brigada Eskwela campaign provides an opportunity for everyone to contribute in the future of the Filipino youth and in nation-building.
“We’re grateful to DepEd for allowing SM San Pablo to give our time, ourselves to improve the learning environment of these kids, the youth attending San Joaquin elementary school, future leaders of this beautiful City of San Pablo. Ms. Nina Wong, SM City San Pablo PR Manager said.
