Former Davao and Manila’s Finest, now CALABARZON’s Top Cop

Camp BGen Vicente P Lim Manila Police District Director PBGEN Vicente D Danao, Jr., was named as the Police Regional Office CALABARZON’s new Regional Director replacing the outgoing Regional Director PBGEN Edward E Carranza.

In a Turn-Over Ceremony held this afternoon at Camp BGen Vicente P Lim Grandstand presided by the Officer-In-Charge of the Philippine National Police, PLTGEN Archie Francisco F Gamboa, the new Regional Director, PBGEN Danao underscored his marching order to purge and discipline erring and scalawag personnel. “I would like to immediately implement ‘OPLAN LITIS’ to go after these personnel.

‘LITIS’ stands for LINISIN TIWALAG AT SCALAWAG na hanay sa kapulisan, PBGEN Danao further said that this should start from the PNP’s own backyard. “Hindi lng paglilinis ng kriminal ang ating gagawin, isama na din natin ang paglilinis ng basura sa ating mismong kabahayan,” he said.

Born in Nueva Vizcaya in 1967, General Danao entered the Philippine Military Academy and graduated as a member of ‘SAMBISIG’ Class of 1991.

PBGEN Danao with the rank of a lieutenant was first assigned as junior officer of the Regional Special Action Force (RSAF) in Surigao del Sur in 1991. In 1995, he was transferred to Davao City Police Office as Commander of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT).

Prior to his assignment as the Director of Manila Police District, he served as the Chief of Police of Davao City alongside then Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte until 2016. He made a mark in Davao and Manila because of his disciplinarian and sterling leadership. “This is a stern warning to police na matitigas ang ulo, opisyal man o Non-Commissioned Officer, hindi ako magdadalawang isip, ako mismo ang kakatay sa inyo. Kung gaano tayo kahigpit sa kalaban at kriminal, dapat mas mahigpit tayo sa ating hanay na scalawag in uniform,” he said.

With the existing Internal Cleansing Program of the PNP, the new regional Director also emphasized that the purging of misfits and scalawags should start from the bottom. He said that the turn-over of command will be the ‘ERA’ of change.

He described the acronym ERA which stands for being the Example, Responsible and Accountable police officers in all their actions.

Para naman sa mga kriminal ito ay hindi lang warning, hindi lang babala kundi isang reminder sa mga ayaw magbago ng kanilang buhay. Kami ay narito para habulin kayo and extend full arm of the law in going against you. And if you will fight it out against any law enforcer definitely your birthday will be change,” he warns.

Meanwhile, the outgoing Regional Director PBGEN Edward E Carranza who will assume post as the Director, Logistics Support Service thanked the entire personnel of Police Regional Office CALABARZON as he presented the accomplishment during his watch. “I am leaving my post as Regional Director of PRO CALABARZON in high spirits knowing that this region is in good hands with PBGEN Vicente Danao at the steering wheel,” PBGEN Carranza as he bids goodbye.

In return, PBGEN Danao assures the public that he will do everything to match if not surpass the achievements of the outgoing Regional Director. “I encourage everyone to toe the line and that will be the gauge of peace and order in CALABARZON. Let us work hand in hand and join our President Rodrigo Duterte in his program to fight criminality, corruption, and illegal drugs,” General Danao in his closing message.

PLTGEN Archie Francisco F Gamboa, Officer-in-Charge of the Philippine National Police who presided said Turn- over called for unity among the personnel of the Philippine National Police. “To the men and women of PRO4A, you are blessed that the incoming and outgoing Regional Director were both of good service reputation coupled with outstanding educational achievements. We expect that there is always another storm that will come our way. Let us keep an eye on what our next plans to withstand these trials,” he said.
