In relation to the advocacy of DTI to embark
on the MSE development and promotion in building and enabling business capacity
as well as income opportunities, the DTI Rizal Provincial Office initiated to
conduct a virtual orientation of mentoring and product development programs
specifically Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP), Collaborative Harnessing and
Mentoring Program for MSEs (CHAMPS), Kapatid Mentor Micro Enterprise – Money
& Market Encounter (KMME-MME), and One Town One Product Next Generation
(OTOP NG).
Consequently, last January 26, 2022, DTI Rizal kicked off its roadshow spearheaded by Business Development Division Chief Sharon F. Dioco under the leadership of Provincial Director Desiderio G. Jurado III. A total of 33 attendees consisting of DTI Rizal staffs, Negosyo Center Business Counselors, and existing MSEs from food and non food sectors. According to the welcome remarks of Business Development Division Chief Sharon F. Dioco, this online activity is an avenue to “learn entrepreneurship and haul entrepreneurial skills”. Account Officers for KMME, OTOP, YEP and CHAMPS presented benefits and assistances on participating these DTI banner programs. To produce well-equipped recipients, background, objectives and requirements are shared to them for each program.
Also, Champion Entrepreneur was featured to share his inspiring entrepreneurial journey. Mr. Eric Montoya of Mr. Dagupeño is one of KMME and OTOP programs beneficiary. He shared how DTI helped him in improving his business and how he was able to engaged in selling deboned bangus and bangus franchise in the Philippines. His business in now present in the different towns and cities of Rizal, Metro Manila and Bulacan and soon, franchising in other places nationwide.
DTI Rizal in coordination with the sixteen Negosyo Centers, has been actively implementing this roadshow to gather potential beneficiaries in the province of Rizal.
