DTI-Laguna forefronts the LGU Assessment and Consultations on the creation of Laguna Business Code







Biñan, Laguna
— The Assessment & Consultations for the drafting of Laguna Business Code mobilized Laguna Provincial LEDIPO headed by Pinky Villasenor, Division Chief Marcelina Alcantara – DTI Laguna Business Development Division Chief, Binan LGU LEDIPO headed by Atty. Vange Arriba, Binan City BPLO Head - Mr. Rene Manabat and NC Binan Manager and CCDO Head Ms. Nora Eusebio-Pangan.

This assessment and consultation notably highlighted the current economic activity, programs, policies and plans of Binan City LGU.

Atty. Arriba - Head of Binan LGU LEDIPO mentioned that one of the main focus projects of Binan City towards economic development is strengthening and improving the city's infrastructure which includes building and rehabilitation of road and bridges and improving soft infrastructure such as IT services. Mr. Rene Manabat - Head of BPLO Binan also stressed that the geographical profile of Binan City also demands for improved hard infrastructure as Binan lies strategically in convergence with SLEX and CALAX.  Meanwhile, Ms. Nora Eusebio-Pangan, Head of NC Binan and CCDO Head also mentioned that there are also efforts from the LGU to equip MSMEs in navigating their businesses through cultivating Big brother - small brother relationship among local businesses in Binan City.

Plans, programs, regulations, directives, current economic activity and recommendations transpired on this assessment and consultation will be used as part of the contributing basis for the drafting of Laguna Business Code which is expected to enable MSMEs attract more investment and operate in a more business friendly policies and regulations which will then help boost local and provincial economy even more.
