The recent testimonial dinner for the top taxpayers in the city of Calamba from 50 companies in various categories such as Business tax - company and individual, Real Property Tax (RPT) for companies and individuals, and tourism-related industries was a success. It was led by Mayor Roseller H. Rizal, Vice Mayor Angelito Lazaro, Congw. Charisse Ann Alcantara, along with the entire Sangguniang Panlungsod.
In his message, Mayor Rizal said, "In my cityhood speech, I gave special emphasis on our efforts to sustain the momentum of economic growth after we recovered from the pandemic. We are happy to note that the innovations introduced to make our city more business friendly reaped encouraging results. Strictly adhering to the requirements of the Anti Red Tape Act, we were cited for our full compliance with eBOSS or Electronic Business One Stop Shop. The ease by which we now do business is seen and felt in our operations /such as starting a business, registering property, processin gconstruction permits, paying taxes, supplying manpower and many others. Because of these innovations, many businesses chose to stay in Calamba. And significantly, of the more than 26% increase in revenues from Business Permits and Licenses from 11,800 registered entities, more than 2,000 are NEW businesses. This evening we are set to officially launch the Calamba GO Electronic Business One Stop Shop nowo perational not only during January but all year-round, we are making our business processes easier for all of you as wec ontinue to provide the necessary climate as an ideal investmentd estination" Rizal said.
He thanked everyone who attended the testimonial dinner, especially Sec. Ernesto V. Perez, Director General of the Anti Red Tape Authority (ARTA), for recognizing the city's implementation of eBOSS, Vice Mayor Toti Lazaro, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, as well as the Barangay Chairpersons and the Media.
Sec. Ernesto V. Perez, Director General of ARTA, delivered a message of congratulations for Mayor Ross Rizal's effective leadership in Calamba as the second city in Laguna to implement online business transactions or eBOSS. He praised the city's business-friendly approach to entrepreneurs and said it would attract additional entrepreneurs to establish their businesses in the city. He said, "Calamba is ahead of many progressive cities in our country."
Vice Mayor Atty. Angelito Lazaro Jr. expressed gratitude for ARTA's recognition of the city of Calamba. He thanked Mayor Rizal for his excellent leadership, with the Sanggunian fully supporting Mayor Rizal's plans for the betterment of Calambeños.
According to Ms. Merle M. Balicao, being acknowledged as one of Calamba's top taxpayers brought immense pride and a sense of dignity. It affirmed that her business is not only a source of delectable cakes and baked goods but also a valuable contributor to nation-building and economic progress.
