MAKATI CITY, Philippines — The Makati Chemotherapy Center has officially opened its doors to the public, providing free chemotherapy treatment to cancer patients in the city.
Dr. Bernard Sese, Officer-in-Charge of the Makati City Health Office, expressed his gratitude to We Hope Medical Group for opening a free Chemotherapy Center in the city. He said the program will be a great help to cancer patients, especially those who need continuous treatment but have limited financial resources.
Meanwhile, Alfred Dela Cruz, Overall Area Operations Manager of New Hope Medical Groups, said one of the major challenges faced by many Filipinos is the high cost of cancer treatment. Because of financial difficulties, some patients are afraid to seek medical consultation and resort to self-medication, which may not be appropriate for their condition.
Dela Cruz advised patients to bring a valid ID and PhilHealth Member Data Record (MDR) to facilitate the necessary assessment and treatment process.
The program aims to expand access to cancer treatment and help reduce the financial burden of medical expenses on patients and their families.
